MSP Foyer Scottish Parliament
Designed by Enric Miralles and his firm EMBT, the Scottish Parliament will facilitate the 129 MSP's, staff and their guests, within the picturesque surrounding of Holyrood Park.

One of the main briefs for the construction of the building was that it was to be as energy efficient as possible. After consideration Warmafloor underfloor heating / cooling system was elected for the project

The areas utilising underfloor heating / cooling were the Debating Chamber, MSP Foyer, Nursery area and the Link Bridge covering some 2000 sq metres.

Consulting engineers RMJM & EMBT specified that a Warmafloor heating / cooling system be installed throughout the required areas providing heating in the winter periods , switching to a cooling mode in the summer, served by chilled water from the central plant room.

The underfloor installation uses Warmafloor's top of the range tacker pipe clipping arrangement, comprising of an insulated panel with a laminated mesh finish. Within the joisted areas Warmafloor's diffusion plate clipping system is used with Warmafloor's Polybutylene underfloor pipework, which carries a 50 year warranty. Output from the floor is 100watts/sq. mtr heating and 50 watts/sq mtr cooling.

Warmafloor is recognised as the UK's market leader in Heating / Cooling and Cooling Only underfloor systems, with projects currently being undertaker across the country continuing to provide the benefits of underfloor heating / cooling systems.
